Meet the COS Team

Community Outreach Services is blessed to have a team of individuals that are dedicated, compassionate, and competent to serve in their capacity at COS.

Mark Jago - Executive Director

Mark began volunteering with COS in 2011, joined the Board of Directors in 2012, and was appointed Executive Director in 2018. As community needs increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, he transitioned to full-time leadership in 2022. Drawing on his experience in nonprofit administration and management, Mark is passionate about serving others and helping neighbors in need throughout the Kennebunks. He considers his roles and work at COS both a privilege and a calling. Outside of work, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, Beccy, visiting family and grandchildren, camping, hiking, exploring New England, and playing basketball with friends.

Stephanie Hatfield - Assistant to the Director

Stephanie joined COS in 2022 as the organization’s growth created increasing administrative and operational needs. Already familiar with COS through a previous professional role, she was excited to become part of the team and support its mission.

Stephanie assists with office administration, operational finances, bookkeeping, and daily organizational support to help ensure everything runs smoothly. She especially enjoys welcoming new neighbors to COS and helping them feel encouraged and supported during difficult times. Stephanie lives in Wells with her husband Andy and their two teenagers. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and cheering on her children at sports and activities.

David Higham - Food Programs Director

David joined COS as a volunteer at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic and quickly became instrumental in expanding the food pantry to meet growing demand. He later joined the staff and now oversees food programs, sourcing nutritious food through donations, food drives, community partners, and local businesses while carefully managing costs.

David also supports COS with technology, software systems, and communications, drawing from a professional background in marketing, project management, hospitality, and software. After years splitting time between California and Maine, David and his wife happily settled in Kennebunk. In his free time, he enjoys travel, skiing, hiking, SCUBA diving, and friendly basketball competition with Executive Director Mark Jago.

Roe Mignogna - Volunteer Coordinator

Roe joined COS as a pantry greeter and now serves as Volunteer Coordinator, managing schedules for the food pantry and special events while tracking volunteer hours and donations. With more than 30 years of experience in technology, Roe has also helped implement systems that support volunteer management and pantry operations.

Roe’s passion for community service grew through previous volunteer work with Long Island Cares – The Harry Chapin Food Bank and a local soup kitchen. Roe enjoys being part of a compassionate team that truly cares for the community. She lives in Kennebunkport with her husband and enjoys gardening, baking, and visiting her adult son in Virginia.

Patsy Hemeon - Food Drive Coordinator

Patsy began volunteering with COS during the pandemic recovery period as a personal shopper and soon stepped into the role of Food Drive Coordinator. Drawing from her experience organizing food drives during her 40-year teaching career, she now coordinates community food drives and works closely with volunteers and donors who support the pantry.

Patsy and her husband retired to Maine in 2019 and quickly became active members of the COS community. She values the welcoming and caring atmosphere that defines the organization. In her free time, Patsy enjoys knitting, crocheting, needle felting, Zumba, and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter in Bethel.

Darryl Clark - Food Delivery Coordinator

Darryl began volunteering with COS by helping pick up groceries, stock shelves, and assist at community events. He now serves as Food Delivery Coordinator, overseeing efforts to bring food directly to neighbors who cannot visit the pantry. Darryl also played an important role in developing COS’s Mobile Food Pantry program through a partnership with Good Shepherd Food Bank.

Before retiring, he worked in database marketing and previously operated a CSA farm, organic produce delivery business, and community garden in Massachusetts. Darryl moved to Kennebunk several years ago and enjoys being part of the local community. He also volunteers with Sailing Ships Maine and has a strong interest in boating and local agriculture.

Your donations help Community Outreach Services serve individuals and families in the towns of Arundel, Kennebunk, and Kennebunkport who are facing challenges with food, fuel, and other essential needs. Thank you for your support!
