Downeast Energy Golf Classic

Despite cloudy, cool and damp conditions on the greens at the Brunswick Golf Club on Friday, June 5, the 24th Annual Downeast Energy Golf Classic became an amazing bright spot for all who participated. The successful day ended with the two non-profit organizations (Riverview Kids Who Care and the Community Outreach Services [COS of the Kennebunks]) both receiving a check for $10,000.

Mark Jago, the new Executive Director of COS said, “I am deeply moved by the gift amount and generosity of Downeast Energy and their employees. Thank you!” COS provides help to those in Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel who find themselves in a fuel, food or specific needs crisis. For more information about COS, you can visit their website at www.coskennebunks.org.

Cello Concert at the Scoop Deck

Looking for some variety for your summer fun? Come join us at the Scoop Deck this evening for a free concert on the deck. Enjoy a delicious ice cream cone with any flavor you can imagine while enjoying the talent of a local artist.

Talented Scooper, Griffin, is not ONLY an amazing scooper, she is a talented and accomplished cellist. They thought it would be fun for her to show off her talents to her fellow scoopers, and for all of you to enjoy and raise some money for a great cause!

Come join us anytime 5 pm until 8:30ish at Scoop Deck at 6 Eldridge Road in Wells, Wednesday, Aug 2nd to hear Griffin play classical and contemporary selections including a few Beatles tunes you’ll love!

They will be donating a portion of their profits that evening to our local Food 4 Thought Backpack program. Griffin will be accepting gratuity as well and will be sharing a portion of those towards the fundraising.

Feel Free to bring bug spray, a blanket, chairs, sandwiches, etc.... They are asking that you purchase ice cream at some point since we are fundraising and a reminder there is NO smoking, alcohol or drugs allowed on our property.

MLK Day Food Drive

Hey, hey M L Day.  You’re the best in every way.  Great job on the part of the school children.  Even with all the snow days they had before school vacation, they still managed to collect 1,713 different items or 1,560 pounds of food.  This is one of the biggest drives we have every year and they always excel,  Thanks for all the support year after year.
