This generous donation from you today will be a tremendous help to our neighbors in need. As indicated by your support, it is obvious that you recognize the need within our communities for those in crisis. All of us at COS are extremely grateful for your contribution.

For nearly 25 years, Community Outreach Services has been serving those facing hunger, sickness and financial difficulties in Kennebunk, Kennebunkport and Arundel. Recently, the need for our services has doubled. Food cost is up 73%, Special Needs 110% and Fuel costs 18%, all of which is consistent with the increasing numbers using our services. As we progress through another year, the needs and costs continue to remain extremely high. With recent reductions in food stamps and benefits from the state government, increased eligibility requirements for assistance, and rising costs, there are growing numbers in our communities that go without food, fuel, and even the basics.

The good news is that we have already begun to see the visible effects of community awareness as evidenced in increased support. But we desperately want to see this continue in order to keep up with the growing needs in our communities. As a non‐profit organization, COS is poised to help those in emergency need. These people do exist and live within the shadows of our beautiful coastal homes and landscapes in the Kennebunks and Arundel.
